The Cellulose Insulation Manufacturers Association (CIMA) and the Cellulose Insulation Manufacturers Association of Canada (CIMAC) are trade associations representing producers of cellulose insulation in the United States and Canada. They are separate associations, but work together on many matters affecting the total cellulose insulation industry in the North America.
Due to its inherent recovered content, low embodied energy and high thermal efficiency, cellulose insulation is often called ‘The Greenest of the Green.’ Cellulose insulation is a natural thermal/acoustical insulation material produced from recovered paper fibers in highly efficient electrically driven mills. Recycled newsprint and cardboard are the principal ingredients, but other paper fibers can be, and often are, used.
Do you need more information about cellulose insulation? Feel free to contact CIMA and CIMAC at 888-881-2462 or visit the associations' web site www.cellulose.org.
